Inaugural TAC Studio Project Wins 3 Awards

The soundtrack for the game Gathering Sky, the work of SFCM TAC (Technology and Applied Composition) faculty member Dren McDonald, was one of the first outings for the TAC studio and utilized the state-of-the-art equipment in the studio's arsenal.
McDonald received three awards from the Game Audio Network Guild for his score for Gathering Sky, recorded live at SFCM's TAC Studio and performed by students from the Conservatory's Music to Go program.McDonald's score received "Best Game Audio Article, Publication or Broadcast," "Best Audio for an Indie Game" and "Best Sound Design in a Casual/Social Game." During this academic year, McDonald used his work on Gathering Sky in the TAC studio as an example for two composition workshop lectures.
