Music For Every Child

Research shows music-making is an essential part of a child’s growth. It shapes minds, develops brains, unites communities, and brings joy. SFCM’s Pre-College division provides an immersive set of programs that instill the value of music in youth 18 and under. It provides an artistic framework and tailored instruction for the next generation of musicians.

Our programs integrate private lessons with musicianship courses, small and large ensemble experiences, master classes, jury assessments, and performance opportunities, with the goal of making music a core part of children’s lives.

Within the Pre-College division, there are three programs that offer different opportunities for students in music.

Areas of Interest

Early Childhood

The Early Childhood Program provides developmentally appropriate training to establish a strong foundation in performance skills and music literacy for children between the ages 4 to 7.

Bridge to Arts & Music (BAM) provides tuition-free instrumental instruction, musical instruments, academic support, and community for underserved students between the ages 6 to 12.

Academy

The Academy provides comprehensive instruction in an immersive Saturday program that includes private lessons, with musicianship courses, small and large ensemble experiences, specialized elective courses, master classes, jury assessments, and performance opportunities.
