New Music Gathering Lives On

Latest SFCM News

February 27, 2015 by Alexandra Gilliam

The first annual New Music Gathering hosted at SFCM in January 2015 continues to reverberate far beyond San Francisco. The prominent contemporary music blog I CARE IF YOU LISTEN recently called the event a 60’s style “love-in” for new music stalwarts in a review that captured Gathering’s giddy energy. San Francisco Chronicle critic Joshua Kosman wrote the Gathering focused attention on the Bay Area’s red-hot new music scene by calling out organizations like the Switchboard Festival and the Center for New Music (major venues for SFCM composers and performers) as national models.

Many events, talks and performances from the 2015 New Music Gathering have been saved for posterity on SFCM’s YouTube channel. Log in and feel the love for yourself!
