Biography
Russian-born violinist Alena Tsoi-Barantschik began her musical studies at the Central Music School in Moscow and later graduated from the Moscow Conservatory of Music, studying with Zinaida Gilels, Valery Klimov, and members of the Borodin Quartet. In addition to maintaining an active solo and chamber music career, Alena served as first violinist of the Orquesta Principal de Asturias in Spain, Netherlands Ballet Orchestra, and Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. Now residing with her family in San Mateo, she regularly performs as a soloist with the Russian Chamber Orchestra and plays chamber music with her husband, Alexander Barantschik. Ms. Tsoi-Barantschik has recorded and toured with the San Francisco Symphony.
